2009 Souvenir Program
While I was at the Home Opener this past Friday night, for however short a time because of the rain, it was pointed out to me by a friend that also attended the game that I was in the souvenir program. She had been looking through her program and randomly noticed my name in one of the sections. I was shocked, to say the least. How am I in the program, you ask? Well, going back to the “Ask A Brave” post, I mentioned that I had submitted a question to KJ. Little did I know that my question would actually win a spot, as well as an in-depth answer to my question, in the souvenir program. This was probably one of the highlights of my night, as the rest was not that great because of the rain, unfortunately.

The question that I submitted was actually much more in-depth (see post mentioned above in the preceding paragraph for the entire question), but the last part more or less covered the entire question, which was what it was cut down to in the program. I was really glad to see that KJ put some effort into answering my question, as some players might not offer as much insight into their preparation for the season. I know it’s not a long answer, and I didn’t expect one either, but it’s enough to get the point across while also being very informative. He answered it exactly like I thought he might.
Of course, after showing this to my sister, she asked why I directed this question to KJ and not to Mac. Everyone in my family, and most of my friends, knows that Mac is definitely my favorite player, and it’s true, but I’ve really also grown to love KJ a lot more as well the past few years and he’s become a close second. I like how KJ plays the game and how hard he works at his game to improve it. You just know that he really loves to succeed and wants nothing more than to do just that. And when he doesn’t, you know that he’s going to bust his butt to make up for his mistakes in some way or another. I think he’s going to have a really great season this year.
Really and truly, though, I can’t give a direct answer as to why I chose KJ over Mac, but more or less, I was trying to show KJ some love because sometimes he doesn’t get too much of it, even when he should, IMO. Mac is usually in the spotlight more so than KJ, so I felt I should let KJ know that he does have fans and people do want to know more things about his game, work ethic, etc., not that I question either one. KJ did exactly what I had hoped for when choosing him to ask a question to and I couldn’t have asked for a better answer.
In the program, I really love the players’ pictures and tidbits given about each player in their bios. Some of those players’ tidbits I would have never guessed. The program was $7.00, but it is well worth the money, trust me. Lauren has scanned a few of the pictures and articles and it’s a nice little preview of the program if you’re wondering if its worth buying or not. Go check out her post and decide for yourself!
