If you’ve been referred here from CatchersBlog.com, then welcome! BravesGirlBlog.com is the new Braves blog that I talked about moving to, in case you were wondering why CB.com forwarded to this address. I know the reason probably was a bit weird, but I guess it’s just me. I wanted a domain that could be more of an identity for myself and one that was a bit on the feminine-side. I think that there are more women bloggers surfacing in the baseball blogosphere and I’m proud to be into this sport that is predominantly male. I enjoy blogging about the Braves and I want it known that I am female, not that it was questioned before. I wanted to make a name for myself that people might recognize more and I wanted a clean slate at that. I wanted it known also that this was indeed a Braves blog.

Whatever the reason, though, the blog is pretty much going to be run the same way. There are going to be a few changes, though, besides the name, of course. There are more features to this site than before, such as BGB Community News, the Mailbag, and I’m pondering the idea of having contests as well. Please see below for more on these features. This blog will probably be a bit more opinionated than the last and have more of a “female” atmosphere. But don’t let that scare you away guys. This blog will never be a groupie, dumb fan girl blog, or whatever. I can assure you that that won’t happen. Not only do I learn more about the game itself, teams, players, and anyone else involved in the game as I watch each season, and even during the off season when I’m going  through baseball withdrawals, I do know what’s going on. I usually research things that I don’t know much about to learn more. I’m passionate about this sport and game and I hope that I am always this passionate about it. I hope to gain more knowledge and only hope my passion for this wonderful sport grows as I go through life.

The features that I was talking about above are listed below with a description.

BGB Community News:

I’ve tried to explain this as best as I can on the page and even included a few examples as well. This is basically where you visitors with baseball blogs submit posts for others to read, then it will show up on the page with a link and description of posts that are submitted. If you don’t understand it after reading the info given on the page, please ask me and I’ll try to explain it to you.

Mailbag:

I tried this for a little while on the last site, but this way is done differently. You ask a question about the game, the Braves, me, anything within reason by leaving a comment on the site and I reply to it. Sounds easy enough, right?

Contests:

I’m not completely sure how this is going to work yet. I have a few ideas, but I need to get some more ideas and also figure out what type of contests that I’ll be having and also what prizes I’ll offer. Also, I need to figure out how I’m going to get these prizes, lol. Hopefully I can come up with some donations of stuff, but I’m not sure how to go about doing that or where to even start with that. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. All and any help with ideas is really appreciated!

Also, don’t mind the posts below. I moved them over here for future reference and for my own memories. The dates on the posts are not the dates they happened, just so you know. That is just the date I moved the post over here from the old site.

Again, welcome to the site. I hope this site becomes something everyone can enjoy and something I myself enjoy more than I already do in owning and maintaining this site. I hope it’s a fun ride and go Braves!
